Control device interaction

When you own a control device, you can manage the device and its built-in modules. To send command requests or monitor sensor readings in normal use, connect the control device to a resource that your account can use. This makes supported features available through resource control panels and dashboard cards.

  1. Open the resource's control panel, or its card on your dashboard.
  2. Use an available control to request the action or value you want. If Realer asks for confirmation, review the request before confirming.
  3. Read the status beside the control. An accepted request does not prove that the device has applied it.

To create a control relationship between a control device and a resource:

  1. Make sure you can edit and administer the resource in Realer and own the control device you want to connect. Use the existing resource, or create one if needed.
  2. Go to the resource page on Realer.
  3. From the resource page, click on under the resource name.
  4. From within the Control card in the edit resource page, click on Edit.
  5. From within the modal window that appears, search for the control device that you want to relate to the resource and click relate.
  6. Choose the privacy setting for the resource control relationship.
  7. Click Create control relationship.

Note: There are limitations on the number of control devices per resource you can relate.
